Darnell waine biography of christopher

Darnell Waine, founder of AMH Gallery was born & raised in Los Angeles, CA. He noticed his artistic abilities at a very young age. Early on, being creative was always very personal thing to him. He rarely gravitated to any sort of formal art training. Still, he persisted in his artistic endeavors throughout middle & high school, establishing a solid reputation amongst his peers. After graduating he picked up the art of tattooing and has now been practicing professionally for more than 15 years. Darnell’s career as a tattoo artist gave him a strong desire to express himself more personally in other artistic mediums. In 2020, he decided to pursue his painting career alongside tattooing. Darnell paints in both oils and acrylics. He describes his work as emotive and challenging. In his paintings Darnell works to unpack the one thing that has fascinated him most, but has also been most elusive throughout his life: Love.

Darnell once held the belief that his highest purpose in life was to simply, create amazing art. That was it, just make art. Although he’s always loved being an artist, he never really understood why he was chosen to make art. Until one day, he has a profound psychedelic experience during which the purpose of his life as an artist is revealed to him: Love. From that day forth, he knew that making art for it’s own sake was not his greatest purpose but his greatest tool in fulfilling his life’s purpose: to embody and spread the Spirit of Love in all his works. This purpose, he believes, is shared by all human beings. Our talents, abilities and skills are our best tools to do this. By fulfulling this purpose, we create Heaven on Earth. This experience also illuminated long standing personal issues Darnell has had with himself over the course of his life and set in motion a commitment to consistently cultivate Love from within himself, share that Love with the world through his art and inspire others to do the same.

“When we are creating and sharing the gifts of that creativity, we are living in Love. We come closer to God.” - DW
